Leon Thomas – Blues And The Soulful Truth 1972

Leon Thomas est un chanteur de jazz américain. De 1970 à 1973, Thomas est élu chaque année meilleur chanteur de jazz masculin par les lecteurs de Downbeat (magazine de Jazz de référence à l'époque). En 1973 il accompagne Carlos Santana en tournée, en tant que chanteur et multi-instrumentiste. On peut l'entendre sur les albums Lotus et Welcome. Son influence est décisive sur l'évolution musicale de Santana. Il collabora également avec Randy Weston, Roland Kirk, Archie Shepp, Ornette Coleman, Pee Wee Ellis. El Michels Affair – Sounding Out The City 2005

El Michels Affair est apparu en 2002 pour le single Easy Access Part 1 et 2. La réalisation était une collaboration entre les musiciens de studio de Soul Fire records qui ont présenté le saxophoniste et organiste Leon Michels. Leon Michels et Nick Movshonsont sont arrivés quand les copains de The Mighty Imperials ont commencé à enregistrer la musique dans le studio de chambre à coucher de Michels. Leon Michels avait acheté un Tascam 388 à partir du début d'années quatre-vingt et a commencé à faire des expériences avec la musique qui s'est exprès égarée du funk. En prenant l'influence de tous les types de musique, Michels et Movshon ont commencé à créer le nouveau type de musique soul qui a mélangé la qualité cinématographique de labels de musique de film avec l'enregistrement esthétique de reggae et du rock des années 60. Comme l'enregistrement a pris forme, Michels a fait intervenir des musiciens et des amis pour aider à former le style et le son du disque. 1er album sortie chez Fastlife Records en 2005.

The Sound Experience a été formée au Collège d'État à Morgan Baltimore 1970. Mené par le premier chanteur Arthur Grant et de Johnny Groman, Reginald Wright, Gregory Holmes, Leroy Frailing, James Lindsey, Anton Scott et Melvin Miles, The Sound Experience était un groupe de Funk de la cote Est, collectif qui a pris leurs guitares désorientées au sérieux et pédale wah-wah.
