Marvin Peterson And The Soulmasters In Concert 1968

Marvin Peterson est un trompettiste et compositeur de Jazz américain. Enregistré au Burnin Bush, à Denton (Texas), cet album obscur datant de 1968 et sorti à l'époque en quelques exemplaires nous est proposé par Jazzman en CD et LP numéroté. Le leader, (Hannibal) Marvin Peterson, est à la trompette et aux vocaux. Ce LP contient une superbe cover de "I can't stand it", de James Brown, et un "Our groove" qui porte bien son nom. Deux titres jazz-funk raffinés et généreux. Les autres morceaux sont plutôt soul-jazz ou spiritual jazz. Album sortie chez Jazzman Records en 2010.
